This historic 1920’s Tudor-style farmhouse suffered from a tacky 1980’s remodel. The homeowners envisioned a kitchen that would blend the original character and charm of the home with smart functionality for a modern-day family. The project began by removing a wall to enlarge the room. Custom-made inset style Bakes & Kropp Fine Cabinetry was used to establish the historic feel while still retaining modern touches. The maple cabinets were finished with two different stains in order to blend the two custom Bakes & Kropp Fine Cabinetry islands with the perimeter cabinetry.
The design feature of two islands allowed for additional space for prep and storage, featuring a custom design and marble-look quartz countertops. A custom designed hood blends with the historic-yet-functional theme of the room and a porcelain wood-look tile offers the finishing touch to this simple yet sophisticated kitchen.
