Bright White with an Island View

Our latest completed project transformed a dated and ill-configured 1990’s condo kitchen into an open, bright and contemporary living space. Using our premier cabinet line, Bakes & Kropp Fine Cabinetry, we used contemporary inset cabinetry painted in “Intense White,” around the perimeter to create a bright and modern foundation for the room. A beveled subway tile with a subtle crackle detail and dark gray quartz perimeter countertops enhances the clean and contemporary feel of the room. Stainless steel appliances and fixtures extend the modern theme. The custom designed freestanding island creates the perfect functional and decorative centerpiece to the room.

The island is painted a dark blackish-brown, lending the space a contrasting natural tone. Kerf details featured on the front, back and sides of the island, along with tapered legs, provide decorative definition. A 1-3/4” thick walnut and sapwood counter top provides the perfect finishing touch to the over 8-ft long centerpiece. The mixed palette of bright white and natural tones, along with the functionality of the new layout, creates a contemporary and efficient space that our clients will enjoy for years to come.
